The creatures here though use bioluminescence to see, hunt for prey, and for defense from predators. The animals living here are usually clear, black, and sometimes red(but that's rare). The conditions here are very rough, intense pressure, lack of food, light, and very cold temperatures. Tmerperatures can be olny 4 degrees C. Because of the lack of sunlight there is no chance for photosynthisis. The animals here feed on each other, but they also really is some ways on life in the others zones. The corpses that make thier way down to the midnight zone make a rare and great feast. They also eat Marine Snow, which is made up of organic material from the uper zones. The lack of food causes the animals to use thier bioluminescence to attract thier prey. It also causes them to adjust thier bodys to be able to sometimes take in food as big as them. For example the gulper eel, which can swollow food bigger than it.
