Sunlight Zone " Euphotic Zone"

Euphotic means "Well Lit" in Greek. Since this is the ocean's surface layer, it dose get the most sunlight. Makeing it the perfect place for phytoplankton to grow. Creating an abundance in food, phytoplankton also creats 90% of the Earths oxygen.

The Sunlight Zone or the Euphotic Zone has the least amount of space and deepth. only going down 200 meters or 600ft. The deepth though deepends on the clarity of the water. Temperatuer can vary here anywhere from 104-27 degrees F. This is because it is the surface layer of the ocean. Which means it is effected most by the weather.
