Pollution of the Ocean
About 80% of the pollution in the ocean actually comes from land. Things such as cars, septic tanks, trucks, boats, farms, ect. causes
Runoff Pollution. Dead zones ( places where marine life cant survive) are comeing up everywhere. There are at least 500 right now leading to the destruction of some ecosystems.the amount of trash is now concentrating creating what are known as Gyres. One major Gyres the Great Pacific Garbage Patch which is twice the size of Texas.
A Dying Ocean
All of this pollution is causing fish, reefs, and other ocean dwelling organisums to die. more than 10,000 mamals have died from polution, along with over 1,0000 sea birds have died. Coral Reefs are diying, because of the runoff they are unable to get to the sunlight. Coral reefs a crucial to the survilval of an ecosystem if they continue to die other species will continue to die with them.
