Ocean Zones

-

The Ocean is divided into three basic zones each zone is vary different. This is based on the amount of light, presure, and temperature. And Just how each zone is unique so are the creatures that live there all having adapted to the zone they live in.

Other than the three major zones there are two more. These two are part of the Midnight Zone or the Bathypelagic Zone. The two zones are the Abyssal Zone and the Hadal Zone.

-Abyssal Zone: Depths greater than 2,000 meters (6,5000ft)
This is an area between the seabed and the open ocean. Leading to the Abyssal Plain, which is the area forming most of the Ocean Basins. It is a somewhat flat plain at about 6,000 meters (20,000ft.)
-Hadal Zone: Depth greater than 6,000 meters (20,000ft)
This is the deepest part of the ocean, in the trenches, which deeper than the Abyssal Zone.

Three Major Zones of the Ocean...

About 200 meters (600ft)
90% of Ocean life lives here, because sunlight reaches here the most. This is due to the fact that photosynthesis occurs here creating an abundance of food for the sea life living there.

About 200 meters (600ft)
Only a Faint amount of light reaches here, causing plant life to be inexistent. There are also few species of animals that can live there due to the lack of food, increased pressure, and little sunlight.

About 4,000 meters (13,000ft)
Absolutely no sunlight reaches here, the only light here is created by the animals that live there using bioluminescence.
